I was feeling tense and clenched before my session with Andy. I wanted to open up to Reiki and see if I wanted to pickup my Reiki practice again since it had been years since I last practiced. After the session, I felt the clenched parts of me release and my energy channels open up to flow. I felt serenity, ease, happiness, and spaciousness during my session. I’d certainly recommend it to anyone who practices reiki, though I think it’s too comprehensive for people who are reiki clients or who have just a passing interest in reiki.

I’ve practised reiki for probably over two decades, and have been giving treatments for over a decade. I didn’t expect to be so engaged by what looks like a fairly academic book about reiki. Stein tells the story of reiki’s development with a focus on Hawayo Takata, who really was the person who brought reiki from Japan and then seeded it through the North Pacific, from which it has now gone worldwide. And he tells it so well that it is accessible and engaging, and felt to me at times like a good novel!
I was actually quite challenged by the book, in a good way, to realise that the way I have been explaining reiki to my clients has particular historical roots and that the notion of a ‘traditional’ or ‘Japanese’ reiki is too simplistic. Reiki developed in many locations and many ways, so I think we really can’t say that there is one form that is more pure than others. I also realise that some of the way that I explain reiki seemed to historically come from a desire to promote reiki and get its acceptance. I think I’m going to embrace more and accept the mystery of reiki henceforth.
Congratulations to Justin Stein for such a fascinating, engaging and useful book. I definitely recommend it to any reiki practitioner to have a better understanding and context for their own practice.

This was my first reiki experience and it was absolutely amazing! Andy is very professional and polite and created a good energy in the room. He made me feel very comfortable and during the treatment I was able to feel relaxed and calm. I could really feel the good energy through my whole body. Earlier this year and last year too, I fell away from regular blogs on this reiki website. I was feeling quieter, and lazier, and the thing is: I’ve had a steady stream of reiki clients, both new and old. And yet, I do know that it’s good to keep the website active, and it’s good to share reviews with potential and established clients. Though it can also be good to take a break, once in a while. This is advice I often give to my clients. If you find something that is positive and beneficial, try to make it a regular practice. And it’s not bad to take a break, or a holiday, or step back, once in a while. In any case, it’s good to be back. Here are some more reviews from Fresha.

Quite a few clients have told me that Fresha, my booking system, is really easy to use. It sends reminders. It allows for electronic payments. Every once in a while, there’s an issue. If someone makes a mistake on their email or phone number, the messages don’t reach them. More often than not, if a client has set up their Fresha account in another country, Fresha allows them to sign in and book the reiki appointment, but forgets to ask them to update their information. But generally, I’m pretty happy with it, since they bought out Bookwell, my old service.
The other new function added since I joined is that I can now reply to my reviews, which is nice, although this means you have to read my replies as well as the reviews. Oh well.
Here are a half a dozen reviews from Fresha. I’ll try to be more prompt about posting these up. It’s good to keep the blog active on my webpage, as I understand it tells the interweb that I’m active and open in general.

No other pro to go to for an absolutely surreal experience. Everyone experiences this differently, but I certainly felt like a brand new person afterwards.
